The application supports 3DS, ASE, OBJ, PLY, and STL formats natively, with additional formats accessible through the 3Dskope Importer extensions.

Notably, 3Dskope handles bitmap formats often unsupported by iOS, such as DDS, TIFF, and TGA. Other document types like AR content, PDFs, images, movies, and office documents are passed to iOS for preview generation. This positions 3Dskope as not only a capable 3D viewer but also an advanced tool with general-purpose content viewing features.

Key functionalities include the ability to play animations embedded in 3DS or ASE files—both mono- or stereoscopic—and the flexibility to toggle light sources and gain an overview of scene elements such as cameras, lights, materials, and meshes. 3Dskope is also adept at importing NURBS curves and surfaces from OBJ files.

With the innovative Magic Crosshair™ feature, users can measure coordinates, distances, areas, and volumes. The clip tool serves to display and animate cross-sectional views effectively. Furthermore, the user interface can be customized for either left-hand or right-hand operation with options for various background patterns and color schemes.

The app offers several In-App Purchase extensions that enhance its capabilities:

• 3Dskope Professional allows the loading of scene textures, provides extended visualization modes, and enables high-resolution rendering with a transparent background.

• 3Dskope Importer supports additional data formats with static preview generation available for free. Users can test format support before purchasing full functionality via In-App purchase.
